Task

Waterford Credit Union is one of Ireland's largest community Credit Unions founded in 1963 and celebrating its 60th anniversary in business.

It is a member owned financial cooperative, democratically controlled by its members, and operated for the purpose of promoting thrift, providing credit at competitive rates, and providing other financial services to its members. In the last number of years, we have introduced digital services by way of a full online current account service.

With three branches - two in the city and one in Tramore - we have approximately 38,000 members and over 40 staff and management. However, Volunteerism is at the core of the Credit Union movement in general.

Currently, we are actively seeking members and potential members interested in serving on our Volunteer Committees, Board of Directors or Board Oversight Committee.

CANDIDATES MUST LIVE OR WORK within Waterford City or Tramore to be eligible under the current rules pertaining to the Credit Union.

We Are Happy To Speak With Anyone Interested In Volunteering. However, Candidates Of Most Interest To Us At Present Are Those With The Following Areas Of Experience

Time commitment is dependent on the areas of interest to you and will be discussed with anyone who expresses interest. There is a necessity for some mandatory training.

Training is provided and you are "buddied up" with another volunteer to help make your volunteering more enjoyable.
