Job Summary

DerbySoft is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with strong financial acumen to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.

The Senior Financial Analyst will act as the financial consultant and business partner to support key business units, working closely with various internal leaders and stakeholders. As the right-hand financial partner, you will be actively engaged in business discussions, meeting with business partners on a regular basis, creating various financial models to support or inform different business decisions, take over existing models and improve upon them, establish budgets and forecasts on behalf of business partners, and support any ad hoc requests that arise. Additionally, you will work with our sister finance teams in accounting, taxes, AR/AP, etc.

Our organization embodies diversity of culture and offers remote working options. As Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role with the manager to create a high-performing FP&A team.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Report monthly actuals versus budget/forecast management reporting for assigned business units and departments
• Pull data from the financial system, aggregating, summarizing, and figuring out best way to articulate financial performance based on the stakeholders you support
• Visualize financial results to business partners
• Research variances between actuals and budget/forecast, then summarize the findings to finance leadership and business partners
• Streamline reporting and ensure accuracy of reporting
• Provide budget and quarterly forecasts for assigned teams including obtaining budget/forecast data from business partners, working with business partners to project forecast and submitting finalized data to manager for consolidation, reporting, and leadership review
• Update and maintain the company’s monthly product KPI presentation
• Support manager in cost analysis for products and customers, creating new product pricing models as it pertains to data mining, analysis, financial model creation, and reviewing with business development
• Run and present competitor benchmarking and analysis
• Identify and propose process improvement opportunities and discuss with team. Support process implementation and improvement.
• Propose or share with team any new financial management software/systems if beneficial to the company
• Ad hoc finance support to the business teams

Experience & Education

• Bachelor’s degree in related fields, with preference in the field of accounting or finance
• 5+ years of related experience
• Experience with digital marketing, technology industry, or start-up organization a plus
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to understand how financial models are built, how to update models that are new to you, how to reverse engineer models, and how to build effective models from scratch
• Experience with large datasets that includes handling, cleansing, mapping, and analyzing of said data
