Provide a voluntary service in Hairdressing as a member of the Complementary Therapies Team,

To provide, cut, wash and blow dry to patients in need of the service

Volunteers Should Have

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in area of expertise, ideally in a healthcare setting

A practical appreciation of the challenges faced by those availing of palliative services.

Roscommon University Hospital is a Model 2 Hospital within the Saolta University Health Care Group of hospitals. The Palliative Care Support Unit (PCSU) is an eight bed facility located adjacent to Roscommon University Hospital is open to patients since February 2023. The PCSU provides respite, symptom control and end of life services

What’s Required

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in area of expertise, ideally in a healthcare setting

QQI Level 5 qualification in Hairdressing is desirable

To provide copies of certificates of qualification and evidence of up-to-date insurance.

To have a friendly, sensitive and courteous manner.

Be committed to develop skills and knowledge related to the care of patients with active, progressive and advanced disease.

Be competent in your areas of expertise ie styling, cutting
