Job Description - Specialist Master Data Management

Overview:

This job specification outlines the general responsibilities associated with the role of Specialist Master Data Analyst.

This person is also responsible for managing the Work Centre Team for Master Data – planning work for self and others in Master Data, ensuring right First Time and On-Time performance of the Work Centre Team.

This person is responsible to set Master Data strategy and lead continuous improvement projects to execute said strategy.

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setting strategy for Master Data for all of ADL.
  • Responsible for managing the Work Centre Team for Master Data – planning work for self and others in Master Data.
  • This person is responsible for managing the entry, maintenance, adherence to standard design and accuracy of Material Master and Planning Master Data elements for SAP.
  • Responsible for defining requirements, analyzing business needs, and validating the solutions with stakeholders.
  • Serve as senior expert associated with the content and processes and procedures involved with ERP/SAP.
  • Influence other functions and departments (e.g. within Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Manufacturing and Global functions) to ensure timely & accurate support of master data processes.
  • Provide process and system guidance / training.
  • Extract, retrieve and compile data relevant for periodic reporting needs.
  • Provide support for core data needs in the ERP system.
  • Identify, support or manage process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure own quality in addition to quality of others impacting SAP.
  • Accountable for achieving data accuracy targets and SLAs.
  • Accountable for global audit reporting on process performance, data performance and facilitates resolution.
  • Audit data and facilitates resolution.
  • Upholds global master data governance process.

Master Data Managemnt:

  • Lead and drive improvement in Master Data Performance (for self and others) as measured by key KPIs (including vendor Data Accuracy, Right First Time and On-time Maser Data Change Managemnt, Workflows on time, etc).
  • Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives using best in class problem solving techniques (Oliver Wight Class A principles, 6σ, LEAN) applying Operational Excellence tools to drive Master Data Performance as measured by key KPIs.
  • Prepare and represent Master Data performance at key business processes (e.g. Materials Review Board, SC Ops Meeting, SC Business Review Meetings).
  • Develop and present various scenario analysis to support decision making within Supply Chain utilizing DAI framework (e.g. SAP setup for new lines, areas or equipment).
  • Lead inter-function business process meetings for Master Data (such as Master Data SQDIP Meeting, SC Business Review, SC Ops Meeting, Class A Project Implementation).

Systems:

  • Expert knowledge of SAP ERP system.
  • User knowledge of Rapid Response,
  • User knowledge CDocs, CCMS, QMTS.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Logistics, Business, Communications or Life Sciences
  • 5+ years supply chain data management experience
  • SAP ECC Material Master Data Experience
  • Advanced experience and capability with Excel, Word, Smartsheets.
  • Material, Production, Planning master data and/or QA inspection plan experience
  • Readily adapts to and manages change
  • Team player, self-starter, persistent, tactful, persuasive, independent worker who take on ownership in driving tasks/projects to completion
  • Ability to evaluate and adhere to company operating procedures as well as hold others accountable to SOP adherence.
  • Ability to conduct effective root cause analysis and passionate in ”right-first-time” resolution of process / system issues.
  • Possess analytical skills in data management, interpretation, and reporting with ability to communicate findings, make recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and pharmaceutical processes
  • Working knowledge of database fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or APICS certification
  • Ability to evaluate and adhere to company operating procedures as well as hold others accountable to SOP adherence.
  • Ability to conduct effective root cause analysis and passionate in ”right-first-time” resolution of process / system issues.
