itContracting are seeking an experienced Senior ICT Project Manager to join their banking/financial services client based in Dublin City. This is a contract role with an initial duration of 1 year, but potential to extend to up to 2 years. Hybrid working, with 2-3 days required on-site per week in Dublin 1.
Role Responsibilities:
- Work with IT Transformation teams to embed IT and Business agility including leading and supporting teams with agile ways of working.
- Carry out activities as noted under the oversight of the IT Transformation Programme Manager, IT Strategic Change office, stakeholders and leadership team.
- Mobilise and project manage the delivery of assigned IT projects to meet the agreed IT Transformation requirements within timescale, cost and quality constraints.
- Build and manage highly effective relationships with the IT Strategic Change Office, Strategic Change Initiative sponsors and other stakeholders to deliver the optimal solution for the organisation.
- Determine appropriate escalation paths and make recommendations in respect of solutions to issues to ensure projects are delivered in line with time, cost and quality targets.
- Track and monitor project budgets in line with the organisation's internal processes and ensure effective tracking and reporting to IT Transformation programme manager, stakeholders and finance teams.
- Proactively manage Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies, ensuring these are identified, mitigated or escalated as necessary so that the projects have the best chance of success.
- Ensure regular effective communications with all stakeholders and provide visibility of progress of projects, demonstrating control over both internal and supplier progress, in order to provide certainty on deliverables and to enable re-planning if necessary to deliver to agreed timelines.
- Follow the organisation’s project management methodologies and related processes to ensure that effective governance is in place for assigned projects.
- Provide leadership and work with all IT stakeholders involved in project delivery to manage the scope and planning of the project and secure the necessary skills and resources required at the right time aligned with demand management processes, in order to ensure successful project completion.
- Provide feedback to line managers on the performance of assigned resources and provide input as appropriate to assignees performance management to assist their development.
- Manage supplier/ vendor activities where external resources are being used.
Role Requirements:
- You must have a minimum of 7 years' experience managing projects end-to-end with full responsibility for successful delivery
- You must hold formal Project management and Agile certifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, DASSM or equivalent.)
- Strong experience in managing and leading Agile IT projects along with practical experience in developing and leading Agile ceremonies, techniques and tools
- Strong knowledge and experience of core project management competencies including budget setting, management and control, RAID management, time management, quality and resource management
- Strong experience in leading IT Transformation areas such as but not limited to Cloud, IT Operating Models and Dev Ops will be an advantage
- Demonstrated experience in multi-vendor environments with associated supplier/vendor management skills
- Experience in public procurement and contract creation/agreement will be an advantage
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills and must be effective at presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
- Strategic outlook coupled with the ability to offer pragmatic solutions and drive decisions in support of organisational and IT requirements
- Excellent leadership skills generating commitment and passion within matrixed and direct team structures
- Ability to motivate the team, foster a collaborative culture and resolve conflict
- Forward thinking, with the ability to remove ambiguity creating clarity and direction
- Willing and able to work under pressure, managing multiple simultaneous work streams
