Quality and Practice Nurse - Clinical Nurse Manager 2
Permanent Contract
Full time 37.50 hours per week
Reporting Relationship: Quality Manager
Overall Purpose of the Post:
This role will champion Cheeverstowns vision of a future which empowers people with intellectual disabilities to realise their potential and live a good life by ensuring that appropriate high quality, individualised, person centred supports are in place for each person using the services in Cheeverstown.
The post holder will be required to participate in the quality and practice development agenda and develop person centred support through care processes which enhance service users' outcomes.
The post holder will demonstrate a clear commitment to community integration and active citizenship for all people with disabilities.
He/she will act as a resource for clinical information and in particular regarding infection prevention & control (IPC). They will promote the development of structures and processes to ensure the highest standards of infection prevention and control practice in Cheeverstown House.
The post holder will provide support to staff, promoting the Quality agenda and act as a resource for training and clinical information. He/she will be required to provide hands on clinical care in order to maintain their own clinical competence
Essential Criteria:
The successful candidate must
O Be registered on the live register on the Intellectual Disability Division of the Register of Nurses as maintained by the NMBI
O Evidence of further education linked to the role and function (quality/IPC/person centred planning)
O Possess an appropriate management qualification and have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to property discharge the functions of the role.
O Have at least 5 years post registration experience
O 2 years post registration experience in clinical practice management / practice development
O Management experience
O Evidence of consistent updating of clinical skills and knowledge
O Full clean driving licence
Essential Core Competencies:
Knowledge of principles and practices of Intellectual Disabilities, and Older Persons
Knowledge of Regulations, Registration and Inspection Process
Knowledge of the principles of person-centred planning
Competent and confident IT skills - Word, Excel, Power Point and email
Demonstrate practitioner competence and professionalism
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Prior experience that demonstrates the applicant's ability to plan, implement, and manage projects.
Knowledge of Quality Improvement strategies
Salary will be reflective of qualification and level of experience and will be paid at Clinical Nurse Manager 2 scale, as per current Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales.
