Introductory Statement: We're looking for a Head of Airline Marketing to join Macquarie AirFinance, a global aviation lessor providing aircraft and capital to the world’s airlines. Reporting to the CCO, the successful candidate will lead a team of experienced leasing professionals who provide marketing coverage across three regional areas, setting key objectives and driving the commercial strategy for leasing the company’s assets. As a dynamic leader, you will be a strong communicator, experienced in analyzing, negotiating and executing successful leasing transactions and supporting your team to develop new and exciting business opportunities. You are a seasoned professional in the commercial aviation leasing industry (or related industry), with demonstrated leadership and relationship building skills, and you thrive working in a social team environment and, importantly, collaborating cross-functionally to deliver results.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Head of Airline Marketing reports to EVP, Chief Commercial Officer.

Summary Of Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this position is the leadership role for the Company’s global airline Marketing team, comprising six experienced professionals based in and providing marketing coverage across three (3) regional areas of Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific & Oceania (APAC) and the America’s (being North America and Latin America & the Caribbean, respectively).

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversight of all marketing activities with responsibility for market coverage, market penetration, and the strategic development of airline relationships around the world involving C-suite airline executives, that will drive profitable and sustainable asset and revenue growth.
  • In liaison with the CCO, determining the strategy for, and setting targets relating to aircraft placements and sale-leasebacks in line with the broader goals, financial targets, strategy, and objectives of the Company.
  • Managing the Marketing team which will include setting objectives aligned with Company targets and goals and monitoring performance as well as overseeing recruitment, retention, training, and development.
  • Leading the successful delivery of leasing transactions which will include supervision of LOI preparation and oversight of lease negotiations ensuring effective cross-functional team collaboration to ensure processes and capabilities are aligned to deliver for the customer and the Company.
  • In conjunction with the Head of Aircraft Trading, identify opportunities for aircraft purchases from airlines or sales to airlines consistent with the Company’s strategic portfolio management objectives.
  • Working with the leadership team to ensure the Company provides the most appropriate assets and transaction offerings reflecting current and future market demands as well as the competitive environment.
  • Manage the collection of receivables coordinating with the CRO.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or minimum 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong market reputation and proven track record in airline sales and marketing.
  • Experience with different economic cycles and an understanding of their impact on the aviation industry.
  • Demonstrable leadership and people management experience.
  • Clear understanding of commercial, contractual, and technical aspects of aircraft marketing.
  • Excellent business development and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Internationally oriented with extensive relationships in the aviation sector.
  • Good understanding of and ability to work within different cultures.
