Job Summary

Bear Robotics creates solutions for the future of automated hospitality and is a leading industry manufacturer of AI-driven autonomous robots. We are seeking a Global Accounting Lead to join our Finance team. As the Global Accounting Lead at Bear Robotics, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of our rapidly expanding robotics startup. You will be responsible for maintaining financial health, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our growth and success. The Global Accounting Lead will have a broad range of responsibilities and will work on a “hands on” basis.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for month-end close and financial statement preparation
  • Prepares complex balance sheet account reconciliations and reviews other account reconciliations prepared by staff or senior accountants
  • Assists in the company’s annual financial audit
  • Play a key role in improving operational effectiveness and efficiency across the organization
  • Provide monthly analysis of operating results and update forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Support pricing decisions on all products through analysis of actual and projected costs
  • Help drive the performance, strategic planning, and growth orientation of the business
  • Implement and maintain effective financial controls and processes
  • Optimize cash flow management and working capital
  • Manage internal and external audits, including coordination with auditors
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Engineering teams to build useful forecasts and processes for running those aspects of the business

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the hiring process for new finance/accounting hires
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development

Required Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

  • Experience in a startup or emerging growth company
  • Knowledge of standard cost accounting and cross-border consolidation
  • Expert in completing month-end close activities for multiple subsidiaries including consolidation and financial reporting package responsibilities
  • Ability to work across multiple global time zones in collaboration with overseas team members
  • Experienced in three or more of the following tools: NetSuite, Avalara, Concur, bill.com, Salesforce, Carta, Google Workspace, Slack
  • Restless in achieving accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Able to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivated
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Legally authorized for employment in the United States without current or future need for employer-sponsored work authorization
  • Subscription (SaaS) and manufacturing accounting and ASC 606

Preferred Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

  • Experience in Manufacturing / AI / Tech industry

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, with 3 years minimum in a supervisory role
  • Proven experience as a Controller or in a senior finance role, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (preferably Netsuite ERP)
