The job in a nutshell:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Procurement Specialist to join the small but expanding procurement team on a permanent basis, supporting the significant growth of the business which has occurred over the last number of years into the future.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the ambitious individual will have responsibility for developing and managing supplier relationships, contract management, compliance and overseeing spend across all categories to reduce costs within the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Work on assigned procurement projects within the different business functions.
- Manage all aspects of strategic sourcing from RFP process to stakeholder management, negotiations and contract implementation.
- Review third party spend within the business and agree measures to reduce cost.
- Delivery of Sourcing & Vendor Management Services and implement action plans as needed to resolve any challenges.
- Vendor/Category Management – Conduct performance reviews with suppliers and business stakeholders to secure the best value, service and quality from our supply chain.
- Review and manage contracts within our supply chain.
Contract Management:
- Contract reviews as required.
- Manage Contract database.
- Supplier Innovation
- Continuous improvement
Sourcing:
- Sourcing Suppliers
- Supplier Negotiations
- Contract development/renewals onboarding & integrations
Vendor Management:
- Tiering vendors
- Contract, cost, and performance management
- Due Diligence and data management
- Third party risk management
Cost Reduction
- Negotiate supplier price reductions as they become necessary and in accordance with Mitie Procurement policy.
- Work with and include all area functions and stakeholders in category cost reduction plan.
About you:
- Great Team worker and good organisational skills
- Strong commercial and contract negotiation skills
- Experience in supporting RFPs and commercial contract reviews.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of sourcing and procurement methodologies and concepts, and P2P process and controls.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Self-starter with strong work ethic, ability to exercise good judgment, results oriented and have attention to detail.
- Ability to challenge the status quo with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make structured decisions on a routine basis.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels in a team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, or CPSM certification and/or CPIM certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in vendor management / sourcing functions, preferably in a Facilities Management and EU regulated environment.
- Proven experience in commercial resolutions and problem solving with vendors in Facilities/Construction environment.
