Role Profile

Tirlan have over 4,500 milk suppliers across the country. The Tirlan Milk Finance Team is responsible for managing all aspects of payments to these suppliers for their milk, various reporting requirements relating to milk  payments, delivery of all innovative supplier payment initiatives and invoicing for all liquid by-products. A vacancy has arisen for a Financial Accountant within the team. Based in Abbey Quarter, Kilkenny, this role reports to the Senior Finance Manager. This role will be responsible for managing the milk payments team whose responsibilities include supplier milk payments on a bi-monthly basis, various supplier deductions from their milk payments and updating supplier masterdata.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor the milk payments team to ensure they are competent and equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Function as a key reviewer and approver of daily, weekly & monthly team outputs.
  • Assist with driving process improvements to streamline process & reporting and enhance efficiencies.
  • Accurate and on-time payments to milk suppliers on a bi-monthly basis.
  • Preparation of monthly accrual for wholemilk purchases.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Review and posting of journals.
  • Review of milk supply agreements for finance loan arrangements.
  • Reply to queries from external auditors in relation to the interim and year-end audits.
  • Ensure accurate provision of information to key stakeholders groups including business units, Taxation, Secretariat, Shared Services/IT and external bodies.

 

Requirements

  • Qualified Professional Accountant with at least 2 years post qualified experience.
  • Experience in leading teams preferred.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Good knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in SAP preferred but not essential.

Profile description:

The Tirlan Milk Finance Team is responsible for managing all aspects of supplier milk payments (including delivery of necessary IT enhancements), supplier analytics & statistics (including support to milk forecasting function) and delivery of all Innovative new supplier initiatives (including supplier financial solutions).

A temporary vacancy has now arisen for a Supplier Payment Specialist within the payments team. Based in Abbey Quarter, Kilkenny, reporting to the Milk Finance Team Manager, the purpose of this role is to manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the supplier milk payments. Central to this role is the delivery of accurate and timely payments to our milk suppliers on a bi-monthly basis.
