This position is an exciting and new opportunity to work with Medtronic’s Patient Monitoring, Respiratory Interventions and/or MCMS businesses. Currently part of Medtronic, Medtronic has announced its intention to transition these businesses either into a new stand-alone company (currently referred to as NewCo) or merge them into the business of another company. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon establishment of NewCo or upon the transition of the business unit to another company, which may occur in approximately 12-15 months, your employment may transfer to one of these entities.
The business will have the same singular focus, financial commitment, deep domain expertise, and global footprint needed to accelerate the development and commercialization of affordable and scalable healthcare technologies.

The Finance Manager will oversee all finance-related activities and processes for the Athlone Manufacturing site while partnering with the Site Director and Functional leadership team. This role requires strong collaboration, clear communication, and superior financial acumen to drive alignment on objectives and to achieve outstanding results. The total cost pool of the site is ~$40M. This position is based in Athlone, Ireland and reports to the Director Finance, M&A Platform.

A Day in The Life Of:
Financial Planning and Reporting
• Leads financial processes around monthly close, quarterly forecasts, annual budgeting, and standard cost setting in alignment with global timelines and standard processes.
• Provides in-depth performance analysis for site trends and drivers on expense/cost variances vs budget/forecast, efficiencies, investments, programmatic savings, headcount, and ad-hoc analysis.
• Develops key performance indicator analyses and dashboards to allow leadership insight to site performance, risks/opportunities, and corrective actions to improve results.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, local statutory accounting, SOX, as well as Medtronic’s worldwide finance policies and procedures, including oversight of balance sheet integrity, overall compliance efforts and technical guidance related to the manufacturing sites.
Business Partnering
• Provide sound financial counsel to the site Manufacturing Director and cross functional leaders to align on financial goals, setting strategic imperatives, and driving performance improvement opportunities.
• Drive jointly with Operations Leaders initiatives improving operating performance on such things as yield, labor efficiency, balance sheet optimization and cost reductions.
• Partners with site team members to develop and evaluate business cases to support investment opportunities, including the identification, approval, and tracking of performance vs. expectation.
Talent Management
• Lead talent management activities for direct and indirect reports, including mentoring, coaching, developing and motivating staff.
