About this job:

We currently have an opportunity for a External Reporting Accountant in our European External Reporting team. The successful candidate will be part of an 11-person team based in Dublin. The key responsibility of this role will be to assist with USGAAP/Irish GAAP quarterly close process for the European legal entities and with the review of various regulatory returns, for example Solvency II reporting to the Central Bank of Ireland for two regulated entities.

You will need to build strong relationships at all levels across the organisation and establish trust with key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation & review of annual audited statutory financial statements, quarterly unaudited statutory statements or accounts and other required filings.
  • Preparation & review of reports to the Board and Audit Committee on the financial position and solvency capital of the Company.
  • Preparation and review of quarterly and annual regulatory submissions to the Central Bank of Ireland and other applicable regulators.
  • Review of corporation tax, VAT and other tax filings for Ireland and U.K.
  • Assessment of strategic initiatives or corporate transactions that impact the entity to ensure compliance with local tax, financial and capital requirements.
  • Preparation of annual financial plan.
  • Assessment and documentation of new standards/reporting requirements originating across multiple bases, for example, US GAAP / IFRS / Irish GAAP / EIOPA.
  • Internal & external stakeholder management, for example legal entity management teams, local auditor, tax consultancy or other external stakeholder relationships.
  • Support on tasks performed on other legal entities in the group.
  • Support on local and group projects as they arise.

Qualifications

About you:

We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail and who can work independently as well as part of the team in a culture of continuous improvement.

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (1- 3-year PQE).
  • Experience in the (re)insurance industry is a must.
  • Solvency II reporting experience is desirable.
  • Proven experience working to tight reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with an ambitious attitude.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a multi-national team.
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills – Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
