Task
We are looking for volunteers that are willing to offer practical support to cancer patients by driving them to their hospital appointments while in treatment.
The driving service is offered free of charge to chemotherapy patients who do not have means of transport of their own and is available for the duration of their treatment.
We are currently recruiting volunteer drivers in Louth.
About the service and tasks of a volunteer driver include:
- The volunteer driving service is a door to door service where patients are picked up from their home address and dropped off at the entrance of the hospital.
- Treatment can last up to 4 – 6 hours and drivers must remain flexible and available in case treatment times vary.
- Volunteer Drivers should have access to an email address and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Time Commitment
Volunteer drivers are asked to give a minimum of 2 days per month to the service. Drivers should be available for the full day.
Volunteer Training & Support
You’ll receive an induction training and orientation day before starting in their role.

About Us

- Hold a full driving license for 3 years or more
- Have a roadworthy car
