The Relationship Director will work across a multi-functional, matrix organisation to ensure effective partnerships exists both internally, as the Tech Ops Asset Lead, as well as externally with a pool of entities (suppliers, CMO’s, trading partners and/or licensees). They will have primary ownership of the end-to-end supply of Ipsen’s externally manufactured Specialty Care products. In this key position, the Relationship Director will engage and influence key stakeholders within a matrix environment to secure and assure supply chain operations, through effective contract management, so that the service is improved, the costs are reduced, and the inventories optimised.
The Role Will Also Include
Asset Management
- Responsible for the Tech Ops Supply Chain management as an integral member of the wider Asset Team (i.e., Commercial, Alliance Management, Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, Product Safety, PV).
- Support alignment, implementation, and delivery of new product launches.
- Support COGS efficiencies and effective financial planning regards CapEx requirements to support delivery of asset strategy
Supply Management
- Responsible for the end-to-end supply chain to ensure availability of outsourced API, Drug Substances or Drug products to Ipsen’s plants or affiliates.
- Identify critical issues, develop action plans and keep stakeholders appraised of any impact upon supply.
- Implement and be responsible for the S&OP process to ensure end to end supply of product, maintenance of minimum stock levels and raw materials to meet demand.
- Be the Supply Chain/Tech Ops representative on Joint Steering/Commercial Committees with partners
- Support the development, implementation and deployment of global SOPs for the management of entities.
Contract Management
- Ensure that entities are an active part of the supply network to enable the sales growth plans of the company.
- Assess alignment of the product life cycle with the entities roadmap and contractual terms to ensure best fit and minimise risk.
- Collect and maintain relevant information on the entities such as contractual terms, financial spend and strategic roadmaps.
- Use of supplier risk management tools to assess the overall risk and ensure business continuity plans are in place and maintained.
- Build a positive engaged relationship with the entities to be the first point of contact for escalation of issues to Technical Operations.
- Develop an effective network of efficient, reliable, and compliant entities.
Performance Management
- Ensure the accountability for the entities’ performance.
- Set up business review meetings to report performance, action plan and recommendations.
- Supervise the collection and review of KPIs (Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, etc.)
- Drive continuous improvement programs with entities (initiation, implementation and monitoring of approved proposals).
- Detect decreasing performance early enough to implement corrective and preventative measures.
Project Management
- Support the selection and endorsement of preferred entities.
- Ensure the contract establishment in liaison with legal, commercial operations, finance, purchasing and all internal and external stakeholders.
- Responsible for the project management of Ipsen resources to resolve supply issues and support life cycle management in coordination with all Ipsen stakeholders.
- Manage and support the roll out of global initiatives to entities, e.g., serialisation, electronic data interfaces etc.
To be considered for this role you can point to broad knowledge of biotech/pharmaceutical manufacturing processes including quality, with excellent scientific analysis and interpretation skills and the ability to creatively problem solve. An international supply chain or operations background working with or in contract manufacturing would be a distinct advantage.
