Position Summary

Manager for Asset Management Systems contributes to the effective delivery of IT capabilities and services supporting the asset management functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations as a functional and technical expert.
  • Troubleshoot issues with minimal guidance. Utilize critical thinking skills to determine source of issues.
  • Lead role in directing and implementing solutions to moderately complex, loosely scoped problems that are aligned with the goals of the team.
  • Perform configuration required for external systems interfaces such as Ariba, SAP, Syncade, Velquest.
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of application upgrades, hotfixes, etc.
  • Deliver projects of moderate to high complexity independently or by leading your teammates to do so.
  • Collaborate with implementation partner(s) to configure, build, and deploy Maximo Application Suite and related systems.
  • Scope poorly defined tasks with limited guidance.
  • Develop understanding of translating business needs, challenges and opportunities into business requirements.
  • Develop understanding of translating business requirements into functional requirements.
  • Develop working knowledge of the digital capabilities used to support asset management business processes.
  • Collect and review data sources to provide a sound recommendation.
  • Generate user stories and data flows.
  • Identify and articulate use cases for proper utilization of software.
  • Design technological solutions aligned to functional requirements. Understands designs/architectures and can understand related information repositories with guidance.
  • Create understandable, maintainable designs/plans without guidance.
  • Demonstrate near mastery of intermediate technology skills across most competencies.
  • Conduct risk & impact assessment to determine the extent of unit testing.
  • Develop understanding of BMS policies and procedures related to computer system validation and IT compliance.
  • Perform validation activities of Maximo applications.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience with IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6x, preferably in life sciences industry
  • 2+ years of experience with IBM Maximo Application Suite, including Maximo Mobile, preferably in life sciences industry
  • Demonstrated success supporting SAP Mobile Work Manager for Maximo
  • Demonstrated success supporting custom-built solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with automation scripting, workflow development, integration framework, BIRT reporting, and COGNOS reporting in Maximo
  • Experience as an application administrator of Maximo Application Suite applications
  • Experience as an application suite administrator of Maximo Application Suite applications (desired)
  • Understanding of relational and object-oriented databases
  • Understanding of Java/JSP, J2EE, XML, SOAP, JSON/REST services, .Net technologies
  • Experience using ServiceNow and Micro Focus ALM/Quality Center is desired
  • Knowledge of computer system validation processes, cGxP and 21CFR Part11 standards
  • Understanding of Information Technology and Software concepts and how these relate to compliance, quality, and data integrity.
  • Explains items clearly and confidently in using personal expertise.
  • Managing multiple priorities.
  • Candidate must have a good level of attention to detail while maintaining a view of the “big picture”.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of the principles and concepts of a discipline and developed knowledge of other related disciplines, typically gained through a university degree and 4-6 years of experience. Works predominately within established procedures. Actively participates in trouble-shooting of routine problems. Makes decisions that impact own work and other groups/teams. Works under minimal supervision. May act as a technical point of contact. Acts as a functional mentor to more junior team members. May represent team or function on program or project teams.
  • Does not have any supervisory responsibility, however, may act as a functional mentor to more junior team members.
  • Identifies key influencers and builds a network of internal/external relationships. Persuades and negotiate effectively with peers and customers on own work outcomes.
  • Makes decisions while understanding the team's work and how it fits into the broader enterprise. May need support from within the team or outside the team when working on broader or complex topics in understanding environment.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve and grow, balancing performance feedback and career development.
  • Applies a continuous improvement mindset in enhancing efficiency, quality and effectiveness or their work outputs.
  • Displays understanding of performance metrics driving the team's goals and questions the external environment and its' implication on the goals and strategies.
  • Able to review multiple factors of data and can effectively organize information to compare and assess short and long-term implications. Can create a well-developed recommendation and sound actions.
