The Head of Finance – Ireland / Deputy Market Finance Director will provide support to the Market Finance Director and focus specifically on Ireland with an oversight of the UK market. They will assist to identify and develop long-term financial strategies for Ireland and the UK business to support the overall financial goals of the Market.
This will be a hands on role and will include developing, planning, implementing, managing and controlling of all financial-related activities of the Ireland Office with the medium term view of overseeing the UK finance team and related activities including, but not limited to: accounting and audit, finance, budget and forecasting, strategic planning and regulatory reporting.
Will be a strong and visible leader, who role models the TMF values and can advise, guide and partner with the business to make good financial decisions so the business can continue to thrive, grow and develop in line with local business and group strategy.
This role is required to be based in Ireland and is part of BII Market Finance leadership team reporting to the EMEA region within the TMF Group and works closely with Group Finance and Regional Finance teams in the delivery of the role.
The Primary Focus Of The Role Will Be
- Acting as a right hand of Market FD and together strategically manage and coordinate UK and Ireland from a financial perspective
- Key focus on the Ireland office to provide support for the newly acquired business as well as provide guidance, commercial acumen and regulatory insight as the newly created regulated company begins to grow.
- Managing and working with local Finance managers and remote Transactional teams based in the TMF Regional Delivery Centres to deliver Financial objectives..
- Monitor closely financials of the countries and be in control of BS and P&L positions
- Build a strong team around them, be visible and travel from time to time to develop strong relationships, mitigate reliance on a single person, align ways of workings, drive changes
- Business partnering to enhance performance and efficiencies, create awareness and familiarize them with KPIs, driving initiatives such as profitability on clients
- Be an active member of the local Management, make sure Finance is connected to all other part of the organization
- Provide management information to different stakeholders (Market FD, Market MD, Country leaders, local CDs, Head of Business)
- Responsible for ongoing development and implementation of reporting and KPI’s to provide business with insight into results, including monthly financial information to the Ireland and UK business as requested
- Providing support to the Market Finance Director with the goal to enhance the company’s competitive position and achieving its strategic objectives
- Acting as escalation point for UKI finance issues to Market Finance Director
- Responsible for the month end, quarter end and year end closing for the UKI entities
- Reviewing and updating of policies and procedures with strong focus on process improvement
- Responsible for development and ongoing management of annual budgets and forecast process
- Preparing financial regulatory reports to ensure compliance with local regulators
- Responsible for the billing process and to ensure accurate and timely preparation of billing for approval by Client Service teams.
- Monitoring revenue recognition for the UKI market and ensuring that accurate reports at country/business/service line/client and project level are available
- Preparing the payroll journals and outbound FLEC recharges for each country; liasing with HR to ensure Sage records are accurate as a basis for inbound and outbound FLEC recharges
- Liaising with external and internal auditors on relevant matters concerning TMF group audits
- Managing of internal audit process for Finance department related topics.
- Responsible for preparation of quarterly finance report to the Board of Directors
- Responsible for timely submission of tax returns (VAT, corporation tax etc) and liaison with external tax advisers
- Team management (recruiting, training & development)
- Supporting any relevant new projects and initiatives
Candidate Profile
- A relevant degree
- ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification with a minimum of five years PQE
- Relevant working experience in a similar position
- Led a finance team in delivery of department objectives
- Used to working to tight deadlines and commercially aware
- Good experience of the Ireland regulatory environment and associated capital management reporting
- Excellent knowledge of Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
