Job Description:


Develops, interprets and implements financial concepts for financial planning and control. Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts. Performs economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements.


Job Purpose:


  • To strengthen and complement the global finance team.
  • To provide information back up and support to the Senior Director – Global Accounting Operations, Finance Controller and the wider management team.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly and ad hoc analysis of financial results to management


Specific Responsibilities:


  • Support month end and close ledger – involving posting journals and completing roll-forward schedules
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports within tight deadlines
  • Perform analysis to identify and investigate key variances
  • Support global SOx compliance activities
  • Responsible for providing business unit management with analysis and commentaries on an ad hoc and monthly basis
  • Co-ordinate month-end and quarter-end processing, reviewing provisions, and cost of sales expenditure
  • Responsible for intercompany reconciliations including monthly settlement
  • Review and analyse intercompany transactions to ensure compliance with transfer pricing agreements
  • Interact with corporate finance and other international locations to ensure company policies and accounting standards are adhered to at all times
  • Interact with local and international third party providers and co-ordinate status of tax and statutory filings
  • Prepare year end financial statements in accordance with FRS 102
  • Interact with local and international auditors and deal with audit queries
  • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis through Blackline portal
  • Provide support to management for information requests and ad hoc reports
  • Provide assistance to corporate where necessary
  • Responsible for Fixed Asset Acquire to Retire processes across multiple locations, including reporting


Key Competencies Required:


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of ERP system (ideally SAP)
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen essential
  • Ability to interact competently with all departments and management levels across multiple geographies
  • Working on own initiative required, with ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to identify process improvements across the finance function
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Flexibility to travel if required


Qualifications / Skills:


  • Qualified accountant, preferably with relevant post qualification experience
  • Membership of a recognised accountancy body
  • Accounting Qualification and/or Business Degree or Diploma + relevant experience
