Alantra’s global FIG team is the leading advisor to financial institutions, platforms, investors and financiers for credit, distressed assets, non-banking assets, real estate and strategic advisory transactions. Reflecting its international market place, Alantra FIG comprises a team of over 150 professionals and is headquartered in London and Madrid, with coverage across markets in EMEA through teams and offices in Dublin, Lisbon, Milan, Athens, and Latin America through its offices and teams in both Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires.
The team has unrivalled experience and insight in the global credit market, having advised buyers and sellers on over 252 transactions totalling over €280 billion across 25 different countries since 2014. These transactions have typically comprised loan portfolio sales (performing and non- performing), servicing platform deals, M&A transactions, securitisations and forward flow structuring.
FIG provides advice to clients across three main verticals:
- Credit – advising clients on the disposal and acquisition of credit assets which could range from unsecured loans to large corporate exposures. We typically act as lead M&A advisor through the end-to-end process - from options analysis, pricing and data analytics, transaction preparation, structuring and transaction execution all the way through to migration
- Secured Funding and ABS – providing advice to specialty finance businesses on fundraising as well as acting as arranger on both public and private ABS
- Banking – providing strategic advice to banks and specialty finance including equity raising and M&A

Role description:
FIG is currently seeking an Associate to join our entrepreneurial and dynamic team based in Dublin. You will be supporting transaction execution, preparation and client pitch work on the buy- and sell-side across each of our verticals. You will play a key role on each transaction you are involved in and will interact directly with investors, clients and other key stakeholders supporting and reporting to more senior team members.
Your day-to-day duties will encompass (inclusive of sell-side and buy-side activities):
- Assisting the project lead in the management of transaction processes, attending stakeholder meetings, providing input for decision making and seeing through follow-up actions
- Review and analysis of transaction data tapes and company financials (sell-side & buy-side) to improve the data set to be market ready (sell-side) or model input (buy-side) data set
- Leading the preparation of transaction marketing materials, including investment teasers, process letters and information memoranda
- Assisting with portfolio segmentation, portfolio pricing models and valuation models
- Overseeing selected transaction workstreams
- Managing the build and running of the data room, including investor Q&A
- Handling the preparation of client investment committee reports (buy-side)
- Participating in investor communications throughout each transaction
- Assisting with the preparation and delivery of client pitches and presentations

Essential skills and experiences:
- 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in a transaction role which could be from an investment bank, accounting firm, rating agency or loan servicer
- Strong interest in banking and financial services
- An understanding of credit and some experience of interpreting financial statements
- Experience analysing large data sets
- Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to contribute your own ideas and work autonomously
- Organised, self-motivated and eager to learn and grow
- Ability to take ownership of a task whilst working under pressure
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
- Strong academic background
- Numerate with strong attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- English fluency (verbal and written)
Desirable skills and experiences:
- Tertiary education in a numerate discipline
- Accounting qualification
- Experience in a banking, credit or financial services transaction role
- Knowledge of structured credit
- Experience of analysing loan portfolio data
- Experience of valuation modelling
