The Opportunity
We are looking for a Client Accountant to join our Client Accounting Team as part of our financial services business in Dublin.
As part of the global expansion of the Maples Group’s financial services offering, our Dublin office opened its doors in 2008. Located in the city centre, a commitment to service excellence and investment in our people quickly established Dublin as a regional hub where our 200+ teammates deliver best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide alongside our colleagues in legal services. The Client Accounting team primarily consists of Big 4 and/or Top 10 qualified accountants/tax advisers and/or those with prior experience in a similar role (in a corporate administrator or lessor). The team comprises approximately 70 team members currently and continues to grow significantly.
Sub-teams and specialised areas within the Client Accounting team include Managing Agent, Tax Compliance, Regulatory Reporting, Aircraft Leasing, CLO/CDO and General Population covering a mixture of the foregoing. Thus providing excellent and diverse opportunities for specialisation in a particular area over time.

As part of our Dublin team you will be performing the below key duties:
Key Duties:
The Client Accountant is a varied and wide-ranging role. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for preparing annual management accounts and financial statements while adhering to strict deadlines;
- Completion of monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of SPVs;
- Ensuring all tax filings, regulatory and ad-hoc reporting is completed in accordance with regulatory and deal requirements;
- Assisting the team and other service providers with other obligations as required;
Ongoing liaison with the company's auditors, lawyers, investment managers, other transaction parties and tax advisers.
Requirements:
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:
- The successful candidate will hold a professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), ideally gained in financial services with 1-2 years' post-qualified experience;
- Prior experience in a similar role (in a corporate administrator or lessor) would be a distinct advantage;
- However, candidates from a Big 4 background with exposure to financial services will also be strongly considered;
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, GAAP and financial and regulatory reporting requirements;
- A drive to develop expertise on the key accounting issues specific to the sector, including but not limited to; accounting for intangibles, valuation/pricing of financial assets and accounting for impairment and illiquid assets;
- Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong written and verbal communication skills and must be proficient in Microsoft Office;
- Proven ability to meet strict deadlines is essential
