We're looking to welcome to our team a CFO Europe for SumUp, based in our Dublin office.
The CFO Europe will partner with the CEO Europe, SumUp boards, audit committees and finance teams to identify and mitigate risks, and provide valuable insights to improve our processes and procedures, supporting the overall business performance. You will play a critical role in delivering SumUp’s strategic objectives by facilitating growth of the SumUp business in Europe.
What you’ll do:
- Act as a quantitative and structural counterpart to the European CEO, driving strategic decisions for our largest market across resource allocation, product investment, and the form and price of our product offerings to merchants.
- Participate as a senior leader in the finance function, helping to develop strategy and design across Tax, FP&A, Treasury and Accounting. Act as a key business advisor to corporate development and M&A.
- As we move towards expanding our banking licenses and financial services activities, help to structure safeguards and structures to ensure we are both compliant and commercial in terms of cash flow activities, lending structures, risk management and yield generation. Most likely will project manage license expansion.
- Coordinate activities across the finance function for the European market, and European based teams: this includes supporting planning for both entities and teams, cash planning within regulated frameworks and hardware logistics/inventory management.
- Perform regulated activities, including governance and reporting for relationship with Board of Ireland.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with external regulators and the various boards. Represent SumUp across our European markets towards regulators, policy makers and the broader FinTech industry.

- You are a finance leader who possess extensive experience in Operational Finance
- You have successfully built and lead teams
- You have a strong understanding of accounting principles and the key activities and challenges of controlling
- You value excellent communication and analytical skills and have a high level of integrity
- You have experience of managing a variety of global stakeholders and act as a trusted partner
- You’re willing to travel as required
