Job description:

The Role:
A unique opportunity has arisen for a Business Developer to join our field sales team supporting the Food Service sector.  Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible to ensure consistent delivery and execution of best-in-class customer experience, delivery of sales budgets for the Food Service and retail business in the region.
 
Specific Geographical Territory – Derry , Fermanagh, Tyrone , Donegal 
 
Principle Accountabilities will include:

  • Manage and develop new and existing  accounts
  • Maintaining a call pattern with existing customers
  • Provision of excellent customer service, product and industry knowledge 
  • Identify and target business opportunities with new accounts
  • Expand current offering and proposition to existing customers
  • Deliver a prompt response to all customer queries ensuring all issues are addressed and resolved as quickly as possible
  • Drive continual improvement of product knowledge and share this with customers to improve growth of sales
  • Offer new food solutions/concepts to customers
  • Submission of daily and weekly sales paperwork including weekly planner to the Business Development Manager
  • Analyse sales results by customer for the territory to establish current trading situations and identify key customers to visit on regular basis
  • Work cross functionally with other departments in the business e.g.: National Accounts, Finance, Marketing and HR to deliver shared objectives

 
Skills & Qualifications Required:


Essential:

  • A proven track record within food service or retail industries
  • Passion for food
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • A knowledge of sales & margins processes
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral communication with a clear understanding of the needs of different audiences
  • Results driven individual and ability to achieve results under challenging circumstances
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Full clean driving licence

 
Desirable:

  • Culinary, hospitality or food and beverage education or experience and ability to communicate effectively with Chefs 
  • Ability to access, analyse and interpret sales data
  • Experience in the use of sales report data
