Position: Assistant Operations Manager (Full Time Permanent)

The Osprey Hotel are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to join the team.

This is your place. The Osprey Hotel, located in Naas, Co. Kildare is just 35 minutes from Dublin City and close to all major routes. The Hotel comprises of the four-star contemporary styled 108 bedroom Osprey Hotel, Spa, Conference Centre, Business Campus, Osprey Leisure and the Herald & Devoy Restaurant. We are delighted to announce our €1 million new conference suite which was designed by celebrity architect and star of RTE’s ‘Home of the Year’, Hugh Wallace. The ballroom has been completely revamped into an elegant and contemporary multi-functional space. This stunning room can accommodate 400 guests for a theatre style conference or up to 320 at round table for weddings and everything else in between with it’s versatile design and functionlity.
The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the day to day operations within all departments.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- To assist the operations manager in the everyday running of the property as a profit driven, customer focused, team oriented business.
- You will be required to cover DM shifts.
- Assist in the day to day operation of the Osprey Hotel.
- To assist in achieving or improving on the hotel’s budgeted financial plan by driving sales, controlling costs and managing expenditure.
- To ensure the product and service offering is constantly reviewed to ensure it is exceeding customer expectations and retains an edge over competitors.
- Assisting with team training in accordance with company and legislative standards.
- Assisting with ensuring the presentation of each department of the hotel is in accordance with company standards.
- Encouraging a good working relationship with all staff and with the local community.
- Attending and holding regular communication meetings with management and staff.
- Showing awareness of the daily business of the hotel and communicating details of this business to each department.
- Participating in the recruitment and selection of new employees particularly in the housekeeping areas.
- To create an environment where team members feel the work they do is valued and contributes to overall success of the hotel.
- To promote a culture of learning and development amongst the team where all members feel that they are fully equipped to work to their best potential within their roles.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous supervisory or management experience within the hotel industry.
- Excellent attention to detail
- High standards as paramount when it comes to customer focus
- A pro-active and multi-tasking approach to work
- Strong yield management skills
- Excellent people management and communication skills
