Dunnes Stores is Ireland’s leading retailer positioned at the cutting edge of food and fashion retailing. We are Irish owned and operate over 130 stores across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Spain, as well as a growing online store. We are expanding our service and product offering for our customers all the time.


Reporting to the Head of Treasury, a vacancy has arisen for a Treasury Accountant within the Dunnes Stores Group. The successful candidate will work closely with Treasury, Cash Management and Store Cash Offices, with the overall objective of supporting the successful management of the Treasury and Cash Management operations for the Dunnes Stores Group.


This role can be broken down into two distinct areas, as described below. As well as normal accounting duties, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to the general commercial operations of the business.


Key Responsibilities


  • Analyse, manage and report Treasury and Cash Management costs and budgets
  • Liaise with Treasury, Cash Management and Store Cash Offices
  • Monitor & report on business cash life cycle
  • Review and enhance Treasury and Cash Control processes by implementing improvements and efficiencies on an ongoing basis
  • Audit bank and cash master data on internal and external systems
  • Review Bank Account Reconciliations weekly and follow up as required
  • Review Cash Management reports on ongoing basis
  • Assist in Treasury and Cash Management monthly management accounts preparation
  • Stay up to date on Regulatory requirements and assist in change implementation projects
  • Other Ad hoc projects as and when required


You are ideal if you have


  • Professional Accountancy Qualification (CTA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a professional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the broader commercial implications of their work
  • Good technical accounting and analytical skills with the ability to perform detail-oriented work
  • Energetic personality, eager to improve efficiency and advance within the department/company
  • The ability to work under tight and pressurised deadlines
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
