Position Overview:

ICON has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join its Dublin-based team. You will be working with a team of experienced procurement professionals and managing an annual spend in excess of $100 million across various spend categories with local and global suppliers, who are market leaders in their field

Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, you will form part of a global team whilst benefiting from in-person contact with peers and key stakeholders within our IT function, covering hardware and predominantly software subscriptions.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver on departmental savings targets:
    • Review and manage assigned vendor/category spend and seek out sustainable cost savings whilst retaining high quality services and building long-term collaborative vendor relationships
    • Ensure future-proofing elements feature as part of our vendor agreements (eg. multi-year contracts)

  • Vendor / category management:
    • Identify, develop and deploy best practice vendor management, category management and procurement practices which enhance procurement performance, and safeguard the requirements of internal stakeholders.
    • Leverage sustainable, long term commercial advantages for ICON including but not exclusive to cost savings.
    • Manages assigned categories, ensuring adherence to ICON policies and procedures.
    • Benchmark best practices and industry trends.
    • Monitor vendor performance to safeguard a high a quality service to ICON and compliance with all ICON processes and policies.

  • Sourcing / RPF
    • Lead on strategic sourcing projects, supporting the end-to-end process, from RFI/RFP to contract execution, evaluating the commercial proposals, assessing and identifying all risk factors, safeguarding long-term viability and sustainability of services, presenting recommendations to stakeholders

  • Contracts
    • Lead contract and commercial negotiations, ensuring on time execution and securing advantages terms and conditions for ICON.
    • Contract management – deliver contract execution and renewals on time, in partnership with the legal team and stakeholders

  • Internal stakeholder relationship management:
    • Build strong collaborative relationships with internal teams and stakeholders eg. Finance, IT, Telecoms, becoming a trusted business advisor and a positive ambassador for the Procurement Department
    • Influencing where appropriate as a true business advisor
    • Promote a customer focused approach and stakeholder partnership though collaboration and effective communication.
    • Be a positive ambassador for the procurement department across the organization

  • Procurement Operations / SMP
    • Ensure operational procurement activities are executed seamlessly, to a high standard, on time to comply with all procurement governance and policies and procedures eg new supplier onboarding, purchase order execution, contract renewals and MSA extensions.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Extensive previous procurement experience, ideally gained within an IT or Telecoms procurement environment
  • Relevant technical qualifications, such as IIPMM or CIPS
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and influencing skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Proven competency in interpreting, negotiating and executing legal contracts
  • Ability to work autonomously, to manage changing priorities and a busy workload
  • Strategic thinking; an ability to recognise and consider emerging opportunities and risks when articulating and communicating on new agreements/proposals.
  • Track record for leading complex vendor negotiations and delivering complex multi-million dollar global service contracts
