About The Role
Looking for a challenge? Want to be part of a growing and dynamic insurance company and take the next step in your career? Reporting to the Group Head of Internal Audit, the Group Internal Auditor for Monument is a critical role in delivering the internal audit strategy.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent and objective evaluations of the organization's activities, predominantly Investment Activities, to ensure portfolio compliance, compliance with internal policies and regulatory requiremenTs
- Contribute towards the development and execution of the risk-based audit plan for investment-related activities, including portfolio management, risk management, and valuation methodology;
- Partnering with management to develop opportunities to strengthen internal controls and improve business processes;
- Identify potential risks and control weaknesses, and work with management to develop and implement corrective actions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to investment activities and regulatory requirements;
- Collaborate with other internal audit teams members to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to risk management.
- Support the Group Head of Internal Audit in improving audit processes and enhancing effectiveness and efficiency and share knowledge to benefit the broader team and organisation.
Role Requirements
- Experienced Investment Internal Auditor with at least 5 years of post-CIA qualification experience and a strong background in the insurance industry;
- Experience of derivative usage and auditing the key risks and processes associated with derivatives;
- Be forward-thinking and possess excellent analytical and communication skills;
- Deep understanding of investment practices, including portfolio management, data validation, risk management, valuation methodologies, as well as experience in auditing investment activities in an insurance company setting;
- Be efficient, with excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate audit findings and recommendations to management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail;
- Experience with data analytics and audit tools is a plus
