Your Responsibilities


  • Work on transport planning projects within a team set-up.
  • Write reports and other technical outputs in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Carry-out research tasks and site visits in support of projects.
  • Perform traffic and transport analysis using a variety of software (e.g. SATURN, CUBE, VISUM, VISSIM, Aimsun, Linsig, Junctions 9 etc).
  • Assist on projects through data analytics by processing high volumes of data, extracting insights from historical data, performing statistical analysis and visualising data to aid in decision making.

We Seek The Following Qualifications, Attributes, And Skills


  • A degree [Level 8] in a relevant area, which may include transport planning, but also data analytics, civil engineering, urban planning, or sustainable development, preferably with a transport/mobility component.
  • Interest and knowledge regarding mobility and transportation, with focus on the role of sustainable modes, integrated networks, infrastructure planning, and new mobility trends.
  • An interest in data analytics and geo-spatial analysis.
  • An interest and willingness to learn various software skills including transport modelling (Saturn / Visum / Vissim / Cube / Aimsun or similar packages), geo-spatial analyses, coding and scripting (Python, ArcGIS, FME, etc.)
  • An awareness and understanding of relevant documents such as Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and the National Transport Authority’s (NTA’s) project appraisal, and transport modelling manuals and guidelines. Knowledge and awareness of the Transport Analysis Guide (TAG) from the UK would also be beneficial.

  • Ability to work well within a team and multi-disciplinary environment, including a capacity to learn from others and to transfer knowledge to others
