Job Purpose

The CNS in the Pain Management Service will be an integral member of the Pain Team, whose skills combine to provide a comprehensive and co-ordinated acute and chronic pain management service to patients. The post holder is expected to work closely with the Pain Consultants, Nursing Staff, and multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of the highest standard of patient care.

There is a strong emphasis on regular patient contact for the purpose of assessment, monitoring and evaluation to ensure safety and efficacy of pain management therapies and techniques. This post is crucial in raising awareness and promoting a wider understanding of pain management strategies requiring an evidence-based approach.
