Position Description
These positions offer the successful candidates the opportunity to work as part of a large finance team. Key priorities for Finance Operations and FP&A are the delivery of best practice finance processes, digitalisation, delivering business requirements and continued staff development.
Key Responsibilities
- Period close, consolidation and reconciliation activities at Group and Business Unit level
- Co-ordination of the annual statutory audit process, engagement with external auditors and delivery of outputs to key internal and external stakeholders as required
- Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and various projects within the Accounting & Reporting function
- Monitoring accounting (IFRS), technical and commercial developments and advising on their impact on the financial close of the Group
- Responsibility for overseeing and reviewing accounting and reporting processes, including ensuring that relevant record to report controls are operating effectively
- Prepare, analyse and report BU monthly management reporting information
- Analyse and report financial and non-financial KPIs
- Prepare forecast, target setting, budgets and 5-year plans, to include gathering inputs through engagement with the business, reporting draft and final outcomes and commentary
- Address ad hoc queries and decision support requests
Essential
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent with at least 2 years post qualification experience
- High level of accounting competency and strong analytical skills
- Highly motivated – able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong IT skills
- Strong understanding of financial systems and processes
Location
This position will be based in ESB’s Head Office at Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin 2

Reporting To
Group Accounting & Reporting Manager.

Salary
€54,000 - €64,000 per annum.
