Cpl is delighted to be partnering with a global Tech client as they embark on establishing a new Engineering Hub in Ireland. This organisation is going through an exciting change, expanding their software solutions to further add value to their growing client base. To assist in the delivery of this significant transformation, the business is seeking a Test Engineering Lead - Mobile Applications as one of their first strategic hires in Ireland.

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Test Engineering, you will work with a global team responsible for testing iOS & Android apps. You will play a key role in defining and planning the organisations test strategy, frameworks & tools.

  • Define the test engineering strategy for mobile applications.
  • Report testing status to key engineering stakeholders.
  • Manage priorities and set expectation when faced with multiple demanding tasks.
  • Lead and give direction to offshore and onshore test engineering teams.
  • Lead and define the release Signoff process for mobile applications.
  • Coach and mentor members of the test engineering team.
  • Help define the test automation strategy for mobile applications.
  • Work and collaborate in multi-disciplinary Agile teams, adopting Agile spirit, methodology and tools.
  • Help define the testing methodologies used to qualify mobile applications.
  • Contribute to the teams daily manual and automation testing effort.

Ideally you’ll bring:

  • Excellent communication, technical and test leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with engineering managers, test engineers, developers, product managers and other stakeholders.
  • Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Previous experience testing Android and iOS mobile applications.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Hands-on experience with source code control and CI/CD platforms (GIT, Jenkins) and debugging tools.
  • Hands-on experience with test management tools and test automation frameworks (e.g., XCUI, Appium, Gherkin, Cucumber, Jira Xray).
  • A strong advocate of quality, promoting a transparent culture of reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.
  • B.Sc. or equivalent vocational experience required.
