We are currently seeking applications from interested graduates to join our Advisory and Digital Services Team Work Placement Programme as a member of the Strategic Advisory Services team

The Opportunity

Arup Ireland are seeking talented students to join our Cork or Dublin team. We look for students who are ready to jump into the professional world; diverse individuals with inquisitive minds and a desire to challenge. You will work alongside skilled professionals and contribute to the success of real projects.

You will also enjoy learning sessions with technical experts within your team, working on local projects and all kinds of social events. You will be working with a team of Strategic Advisory Services professionals from various offices.

Typical work that the Strategic Advisory Team is involved in includes the following:


  • Finance & Economics - Demonstrating the financial and economic benefits of our project work and supporting our clients through the investment development and prioritisation process.
  • Strategy & Transformation - Developing innovative strategies and guide comprehensive changes that drive growth, adapt to market shifts, and optimise operational effectiveness.
  • Transport Advisory - Defining and planning how services and/or infrastructure can connect people to opportunity most effectively and efficiently.
  • Communications & Organisational Change - Bringing together experts in strategic change and business psychology to help clients respond to change and maximise their people’s capability and performance.
  • Regularly collaborate with other disciplines and teams in Ireland and across the Europe region such as Foresight and Climate & Sustainable Service.


This is an office-based role, with successful candidates expected to work 5 days per week in the Arup office in Cork or Dublin .

Yo Ur Responsibilities


  • Support the transformation of technical recommendations into well-structured and clearly communicated project deliverables.
  • Practice creative applications of technology to develop design solutions.
  • Utilise communication skills for report writing and visual representations.
  • Be able to decipher media reports and the potential effects these may have on our clients.
  • Attend and participate in meetings – listen, ask questions.
  • Be involved in discussions with team members to gain knowledge & experience.
  • Undertake analytical research to develop, document, present concepts.
  • Give structure to ideas – lots of “taking a first pass” at spreadsheets, reports, and analyses for discussion later rather than instruction.
  • Work on defined tasks under supervision.


We Seek The Following Qualifications, Attributes And Skills


  • Be currently studying for a bachelor’s or postgraduate level qualification in a relevant discipline, including, but not limited to:
  • Data Analytics or statistics
  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Law
  • Business
  • Engineering
  • Planning
  • Management
  • Communications or Social Studies
  • Psychology

  • Strong attention to detail
