QC Group leader - Ringaskiddy

About the Position
The primary purpose of this role is to lead a team of technical employees to ensure that the group is operating at the highest quality and productivity standards, have high morale and retention. This person will be a key point of contact for the client on a day-to-day basis, with the support of the site Manager.
In general, the Group Lead is expected to spend 50% of their time on leadership duties, and 50% of their time on laboratory-based activities. This will flex depending on priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Effectively coordinating and leading a team so that productivity, quality, documentation, work schedules, safety and housekeeping are run at maximum efficiency.
Ensuring 100% ethical work standards and GMP compliance.
Development, coaching, motivation, and morale of team members through effective team building and use of reward and recognition systems celebrating team success.
Ensuring that work is scheduled and cross training takes place so that the service levels agreed with the client are achieved.
Ensuring that all team members are trained and have completed training records for all training completed.
To perform routine and non-routine technical duties, and various support activities as required by the client.
Involvement in forecasting and scheduling of activities within QC sample management.
Act as SME for sample management taking personal ownership of/ being the key point of contact for QC for sample management.
Key point of contact for the client in relation to sample management deliverables.
Lead quality and EHS investigations where necessary.
Experience/Requirements
A degree or diploma in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or a related subject.
A Masters or PhD qualification in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology would be an advantage.
At least 3 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical industry GMP laboratory
Experience in a leadership capacity is desirable.
Good team player, organised, accurate, have strong documentation skills
Passionate about quality and client service.
