Job Description
The Microchip High-Reliability Integrated Power Solutions Centre, based in Ennis, is an R&D facility supporting the design, development, manufacturing and test of Integrated Power SolutionsTM (IPS) for high reliability applications. As the transportation sector continues to demand higher levels of power electronics reliability and integration in order to realise goals such as the more electric aircraft (MEA) and net zero carbon emissions in aviation by 2050, Microchip’s IPS Centre of Excellence plays a critical role in supporting these objectives. Products from this centre include electric actuator motor drives for commercial aircraft and thrust vector control modules for Space Launchers. The centre is now expanding and is seeking applicants to assist in the development of leading-edge new products including Space power converters, power modules for electric vehicles and silicon-carbide gate driver products.
What Will You Do In This Position
As Product Line Manager, you will lead the development and marketing for a range of integrated power solutions such as Aviation Electric Actuation Drivers, Space Power Converters and SiC Gate Driver Circuits. You will engage with our business development teams and key customers to promote our products and increase market share. You will also work closely with our project management and R&D teams to track and monitor the development of this high-reliability product portfolio.

This position will allow you lead technical customer activity and product development for our leading-edge power electronics solutions in a range of transportation applications. You will be working with customers to develop products for commercial aviation, Space and electric vehicles to ensure a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future. You will also engage with our international business development and technical teams while engaging with customers who are market leaders in their application areas.
Key Job Responsibilities/duties Include
- Manage the existing IPS hybrid power drive (HPD) and power core module (PCM) product portfolio.
- Support the development of the product portfolio vision and strategy.
- Liaise with, and support Sales teams and customers to develop new opportunities.
- Develop and deliver documentation such as product specifications, progress reports, proposals, requirement documents and presentations.
- Manage new project development through the product lifecycle from concept to production.
- Track and report project progress as required and maintain effective stakeholder communications.
- Liaise with other development team functions such as project management, mechanical design, drafting, electronic design, reliability engineering, quality and operations, some of which are located internationally.
- Work with planning and operations functions to bring products to production.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor/Masters degree in a Program/Project Management or Electronic/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years experience in a program lead or management position, preferably in a product development environment.
- Background in electronics / electrical systems is essential.

- Experience in a high-reliability product development and manufacturing environment is an advantage
- Good organisation, teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
- Great analytical and problem-solving skills and motivation to learn
- Strong time management skills, self-direction, and the desire to excel
- Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project is an advantage
