Position Overview


The Marketing Initiatives & Implementation Manager will be responsible for the implementation of new marketing initiatives and projects across the region. This will include the launch of new websites, new functionality, or new services to enhance the capabilities of the overall Cover-More marketing function. This is a key role within the Marketing Operations Team, and requires a mix of skills, spanning marketing, e-commerce, user experience, online technology and project management.


Online experience is key to our business, as the websites deliver more than just sales. They are a key touchpoint for customers and the Marketing Initiatives & Implementation Manager will play a critical role in delivering aspects of customer service and product led projects which require online delivery or marketing support. This role will work closely with their marketing colleagues, and also with wider teams within the business, including product, customer service, IT, and compliance to ensure that solutions are suitable for the target market and are designed to meet the business objectives


A key aspect of the role will be to plan and execute Cover-More’s Direct to Consumer marketing activity in new key European markets. Cover-More has a strong presence in the UK and Ireland, and it intends to roll-out activity in EU markets during 2024 and beyond. The Marketing Initiatives & Implementation Manager will play a critical role in ensuring this objective is delivered.


The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and quantifying market opportunities, generating market intelligence, competitor research, overseeing the creation of the D2C websites and the design and execution of digital marketing initiatives into the chosen new markets and managing the transition of “go-to-market” plans into BAU within the Marketing Distribution and Marketing Operations Teams.


Responsibilities of the role include the delivery of solutions and enhancements to existing services already offered by Cover-More in the UK and Ireland, which include Travel Insurance, Pet Insurance, Wedding Insurance, GAP Insurance, Gadget Insurance and Car Hire Insurance.


The Marketing Initiatives & Implementation Manager will also support the B2B2C team in the delivery of digital solutions to partners, such as white-label websites to support the growth of this channel


Qualifications And Training


  • Demonstrable track record of executing D2C multi-channel digital marketing campaigns with a focus on e-commerce.
  • Experience in financial services is preferable. Experience of insurance distribution in multiple markets is highly preferable.
  • Experience of working on multi-lingual marketing solutions across multiple international markets
  • Strong technical knowledge of website architecture, the principles of website design and technical SEO.
  • Hands-on experience of Google Analytics (Universal and GA4), Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta (Facebook) and other digital marketing platforms and tracking solutions is essential.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of digital distribution channels including paid search, social media, programmatic, affiliate marketing, CRM and digital broadcast.
  • Advanced analytics skills – Experience with Excel is essential. Experience of other tools such as Looker Studio (Google Data Studio), Tableau or Power BI would be an advantage.
  • Be able to work under pressure in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing complex projects and multiple work-streams.
  • Experience indirectly managing individuals with strong technical skills who are themselves subject matter experts.
  • Strong commercial understanding of the business environment and competitive differentiators
  • Ability to adapt to a start-up paced environment, as well as working within a large a complex organisation.

  • Experience of working with multiple brands, products, and websites


Key Duties & Responsibilities


To be successful in this role you will need to be able to:


  • Work with Product Managers to define and refine the product offerings across chosen markets
  • Work with UX / UI Managers to specify and build optimised consumer websites in each chosen market.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the roll-out plans for each market and product.
  • Conduct market, competitor and product research to understand the scope of each opportunity and design appropriate business solutions.
  • Work with Marketing Distribution and Product Teams to develop initial marketing strategies and campaign plans to deliver the sales objectives.
  • Plan and manage the Direct-to-Consumer EU marketing budget, focussing on delivering ROI.
  • Identify and source 3rd party agency support as required to help execute the marketing plans, including creative, media buying and translation services.
  • Work with Marketing and Data Analysts to ensure all required tracking is in place and that performance can be consistently reported on
  • Develop channel capabilities across the region, including PPC, Social, PR, CRM, affiliates and aggregators.
  • Work with the Marketing Operations Team to ensure the optimisation of the sites for search engines (SEO), ensuring sites are technically optimised and are also optimised for relevant content.
  • Develop content creation plans for roll-out across websites and media.
  • Ensure all marketing distribution activities comply with local regulations and guidelines.
  • Work with product managers to identify additional product opportunities, enhancements or developments.
  • Use data to drive insights for performance enhancements.
  • Work with designers to ensure creative assets are in place at launch to support all marketing channels.
  • Support all activity in new markets from launch and establish robust plans for handing over to BAU marketing teams, including identifying and securing any additional resource that may be required.
  • Co-ordinate project deliverables and priorities with the IT development teams.
  • Stay up to date with marketing trends and developments to ensure that our solutions and strategies remain relevant.
  • Work with product teams and marketing teams to understand target markets, brand identity and product objectives to ensure the design, UX and UI for each digital asset is optimised for the audience and product.
  • Build business cases as required to support the delivery of new initiatives
