Lead Infrastructure Engineer (Azure)

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer in SITA’s Operations at Airports (AMS) Portfolio you will manage the technical design, development and maintenance of Azure Cloud platforms and related services using existing and emerging technologies.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Engineer to join the AMS Portfolio. The AMS team are dedicated to developing and deploying our Cloud solutions the right way and we would like to have you onboard.

What You Will Do

• Lead the designing, planning and implementation of our Azure cloud solutions and services.
• Implement cost effective Cloud Solutions using IaaS/PaaS/SaaS so that it is flexible, extensible, elastic, secure and reliable at large scale.
• Issue technical recommendations and guidelines for implementation and support.
• Participate in the definition and evolution of development practices, and all technical processes and guidelines, ensuring they are followed by the team.
• Work as part of a broader team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution via automation.
• Mentor less experienced Engineers.
• Provide expert level support to Operational teams.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines from development right though to production.
  
  
  

Qualifications

Who you are

• • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Azure Certification desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience, with at least 6 years in Azure Cloud Platform.
  • Designing, configuring & implementing infrastructure and network solutions in Azure.
  • LAN & WAN networking, TCP/IP, load balancing principles, infrastructure management concepts, and common internet services/protocols.
  • Experience with hub and spoke and landing zones.
  • Experience in managing and provisioning infrastructure through code (IaC).
  • Experience with automating application deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand new technologies or concepts, review functional and technical requirements, raising potential issues and participating actively in design discussions.
  • Experience with creating application and infrastructure monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry compliance and security standards.
  • Detail-oriented with good communication skills.
  • You thrive in a team environment where communication and being a team player is paramount.
  • Experienced in Agile Methodologies, both Scrum and Kanban.
  • Ability to work well both independently, and as a member of a team.
  • Experience with automation and IaC (Terraform, Ansible, Bash).
  • Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS).
  • Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Practical hands-on Azure skills including Azure AppGW, WAF, Vnet, Routing, Subnets, App services, VM’s, Helm and Helmfile.
  • Rabbit MQ.
  • MSSQL, Azure SQL.
  • Windows Server administration.
  • Active directory, Azure AD, Azure AD B2C.
  • Dynatrace is desirable.
