The Opportunity
Join our team as a Regional Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for our Hub Europe and play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our suppliers' materials and services. You'll be at the forefront of qualifying potential and existing suppliers, conducting quality surveillance at their manufacturing sites, and driving problem resolution for critical quality issues using L6s methods. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our Quality, Procurement, and Logistics teams to enhance supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
How You'll Make an Impact
Supplier Assessments & Audits: Plan, conduct, and ensure the completion of required supplier assessments and audits. Monitor performance and verify the closure of non-conformances
Support Procurement & Factory Teams: Help maintain a qualified supplier base by ensuring compliance with the Hitachi Energy Supplier Code of Conduct and sustainability requirements
Part Qualification Execution: Collaborate with the Supply Chain Management Organization and Part Qualification Team to execute part qualifications (PPAP) according to defined requirements
Issue Resolution: Focus on resolving supplier non-conformance issues and drive quality improvement projects through regular supplier visits
Operational Leadership: Lead and swiftly address supply issues such as quality problems, late deliveries, and non-conforming products. Prepare claims cases for responsible buyers when necessary
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on supplier performance (KPIs), quality issues, and development actions. Lead or support Supplier Performance Evaluations (SPE) and share results with suppliers
Special Projects: Complete special quality/quality management projects as required, working closely with category teams, responsible buyers, Q&OPEX, Sustainability/HSE, R&D/Engineering, and suppliers
Your Background
We are looking for candidates with:
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in production, factory quality, or product testing
A background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or machining
Fluency in English, both spoken and written
Green or Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma and proficiency in using statistical tools are advantageous
Strong ability to work with various stakeholders and motivate them towards effective solutions based on technical and economic considerations
