We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Business Partner (m/f/d) based in Hamburg to support the global business functions of Hurtigruten. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing people and culture strategies and processes that deliver the business objectives and support efficient growth across multiple geographies.


As our global HR Business Partner, you aim to “Provide a People Experience that’s as great as our products.” Hurtigruten has offices and employees worldwide, and you will be working with employees from multiple countries. This role requires international experience within HR and a good understanding of the commercial function.

As global HR Business Partner, you will report to VP People and Organisation in Oslo, Norway.

Key responsibilities:
Partner with the business to understand goals and implement people & organisation strategies and processes that support growth and performance. This implies:

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and performance management to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Provide strategic guidance and operational support on organisational design, workforce planning and succession planning as well as talent acquisition and development based on Hurtigruten’s frameworks.
  • Ensure consistency and alignment with the over-all People function and business leaders to secure service scope and overall contribution are meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • Establish, review, update, and implement global and/or local HR policies, procedures and initiatives as needed. Ensure compliance with local regulations depending on geography in collaboration with our legal function and payroll providers.
  • Oversee compliance of employee related documentation.
  • Support salary review and benefit related procedures, including dialogue and negotiations with trade unions and works councils where applicable.
  • Payroll compliance for the German geography, cooperation with Accounting-Team and external payroll provider
  • People management: Manage People Operations Partners and the Office Manager Hamburg reporting to you and oversee process governance and compliance.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in HR partnership roles, familiar with a multinational environment.
  • Hands-on operational experience including change management within a matrix organisation and with a geographically dispersed team.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of commercial operating models.
  • Proven track record of implementing People strategies that drive business results and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated Experience to support change management and organisational development, bringing everyone on the journey. You are also able to coach, influence and make tough decisions quickly and execute inclusively.
  • Excellent communication in English and German; influencing, and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.
  • In-depth understanding of German employment law, e.g. co-determination
  • Relevant degree, e.g. MBA/HR
