Work Location Geneva Expected duration 6 months Duties and Responsibilities The intern will be tasked with supporting the internal communications strategy at the Office of the Director of the Division of Administration, focussing on accessibility issues at the Palais des Nations. Key responsibilities will include: • Creating content about accessibility. • Designing and updating newsletters for staff communication. • Facilitating communication with member states on accessibility issues. • Assisting in the organization of events around disability inclusion. • Performing updates on the intranet. • Developing and implementing new outreach channels Qualifications/special skills To qualify for an internship with the United Nations, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Interns must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a related field such as Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, administration or business. Applicants to the UN Internship programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (Bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. Programme. Please note you will have to provide an official certificate at a later stage Applicants must also have: • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Good organizational skills and attention to detail. • Proficiency in using digital communication tools and platforms. Languages For this position, applicants must be fluent in both French and English, as all internal communications at UNOG are conducted in these two languages.
