Our client, a key player in the Engineering Industry are seeking an Accountant for their office in North Kildare on a 12 month fixed term contract.
The Finance team plays a pivotal role, handling various responsibilities such as accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), payroll, compliance, and company reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, overseeing journal entries, accruals, and month-end closing activities.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor payments, invoice processing, and collections.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with other departments to develop budgets and forecasts, monitoring financial performance against targets and providing insights and recommendations.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including the preparation and filing of tax returns, VAT, and other tax-related activities.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, providing insights to support strategic decisions.
Audit Support: Assist in the preparation and coordination of financial audits, responding to auditor inquiries, and implementing audit recommendations.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
The Ideal Candidate:
A qualified accountant with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
Prior experience in the construction industry is preferred.
Proficiency with SAP software is advantageous.
Experience in a Shared Service Center (SSC) global environment is beneficial.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Adaptability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced organization.
Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
Proficiency in Excel.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently and taking initiative.
