Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Unix and Database Administration Team Leader to lead our Linux/Unix and Database Administration teams. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the strategy, managing projects, and ensuring the day-to-day support and operational efficiency of both teams. Your leadership will guide a high-performing group, driving improvements in automation, security, and service delivery, ensuring that our systems and services remain robust and efficient.

Unix and Database Administration Team Leader - MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Management:

  • Management of both the Linux/Unix and Database Administration teams, overseeing the strategy, projects and day to day support.

Linux/Unix technical support

  • Provide day-to-day operation and maintenance support for Linux/Unix environments (on-premises and/or cloud) including provisioning, monitoring, backups, patching, troubleshooting and remediation activities.
  • 2nd & 3rd level of support (Troubleshooting and problem fixing)
  • Perform general system Linux administration & management.
  • Writing scripts to automate routine tasks such as deployments, log rotation, Puppet, Ansible, etc.
  • Actively work on automating daily activities
  • Helping on creation, validation and implementation of technical standards
  • Provide both proactive and reactive support for theses environment.

Skills and experience

  • Min Bachelor level in technologies.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience as Unix/Linux system administrator
  • Experience installing - configuring Linux-based operating systems such as RedHat distribution, including patching & maintenance.
  • Working with a variety of monitoring & observability platforms (preferably ELK)
  • Experience with scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Perl, python)
  • Experience deploying Continuous Integration (CI) tools such as RedHat Satellite / Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) / Ansible Tower, Puppet
  • Basic networking understanding - such as DNS, Load Balancing, and general TCP/IP knowledge
  • Experience with openSSL, openSSH and certificate management
  • Able to understand the security requirements and to apply them (to be strong security background and focused)
  • A working knowledge of Database Administration (Oracle and SQL)
  • Autonomous and able to manage relationships across different teams.
  • A proven track record and good skills in change and release management, understanding project management concepts.
  • Good understanding and practical experience with application of ITIL concepts
  • Fluent in French and English written and spoken.
