Due to continued growth, we are currently hiring a Server Systems Administrator to join our team. Opportunity type: Contract (3 months initially), Hybrid, Dublin (CityWest)
As a Server Systems Administrator you will support the IT Director in the development, packaging and distribution of a financial software platform. The platform is developed in Java and the storage is a combination of on-premises servers in data centres and Virtual Machines (VMs).
The main focus will be managing the on-premises servers and implementing process automation for the deployment of the VMs. It requires experience in managing Microsoft (MS) services, and experience in both hardware and software development environments. You will also be involved in other projects on the IT roadmap.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in an IT infrastructure role
- Strong knowledge/demonstrated knowledge of supporting business systems and applications.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Windows servers management, both on-premises servers and VMs
- Windows desktop operating systems
- Experience with Microsoft server-side applications
- PowerShell scripting
- Windows 10/11
- Virtualization, Hyper-V & VMware
- Active Directory
- Working knowledge of Server Security & Hardening
- Asset Management
- Licensing
- Monitoring and Alerting
- Server upgrades & maintenance
- Patch management
- Networking: VLANs, Switching, WIFI, routing, LAN, WAN
- Accreditations (desired but not essential)
- Applicable Microsoft Certification
- ITIL
- VMware VCP or MS equivalent accreditation.
- Degree in Information Technology or related fields (Computer Science, Information Science, Software Engineering) or a Degree in Engineering with additional IT qualifications or equivalent work experience
