  • On a typical day, a Support Engineer will be primarily responsible for solving customer’s cases through a variety of customer contact channels which include telephone, email, and web/live chat. You will apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions for our customers and drive customer interactions by thoughtfully working with customers to dive deep into the root cause of an issue.
  • Apart from working on a broad spectrum of technical issues, an AWS Support Engineer may also coach/mentor new hires, develop & present training, partner with development teams on complex issues or contact deflection initiatives, participate in new hiring, write tools/script to help the team, or work with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives.

Key job responsibilities

As a Support Engineer, you will drive the security campaigns, find ways to improve and automate our existing services, and provide escalation and mentoring for junior team members. You will be working on large scale programs, managing our Compliance tooling, supporting service teams and developing solutions to remove blockers and optimize tooling. The right candidate for this position has a strong technical background in Linux systems administration that allows them to approach any problem with confidence and ingenuity. They must be a "lifelong learner", embracing the rapid innovations in technology and understanding how to leverage them to continue to improve our products. They will be customer-obsessed, always looking to understand customer pain points and find resolution quickly and completely. They will be passionate about finding innovative solutions, and work proactively to solve potential problems and inefficiencies. And they must be able to communicate clearly and collaborate with others to deliver results with minimal supervision.

About The Team

My team's mission is to provide technical solutions to Korean speaking customers. Also we define, measure, enable, and evangelize the core enduring principles that raise the security bar across all of Amazon. We build security tooling, services and products that teams across Amazon rely on for standardized reporting, meeting their defined SLAs and most importantly upholding the security standards across all our systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or 3+ years of technical support experience
  • 3+ years of network and operating system support experience
  • 3+ years of virtualization, orchestration and cloud computing (eg. Hypervisors, VMware, Xen) experience
  • 3+ years of distributed systems experience
  • 3+ years of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) experience
  • 3+ years of information security and compliance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of security best practices
