Irish Distillers joined Pernod Ricard in 1988, gaining access to unprecedented levels of investment and an extensive global distribution network. Pernod Ricard is the No.2 worldwide producer of wines and spirits with over 300 brands including Absolut, Jacobs Creek, Beefeater Gin and MMPJ and many more.


We are currently recruiting an Engineering Team Lead to join our Engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this is an onsite position based at Fox & Geese site, Dublin 22.

The role's objective is to support the engineering manager in leading and developing electrical maintenance teams. This includes executing the Packaging maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability aligns with modern manufacturing standards. The position involves implementing modern processes, procedures, and standardization to continuously improve equipment performance using lean principles. The ideal candidate should be capable of challenging the status quo and coaching the maintenance teams to deliver reliable engineering and lean operations. They will also play a key role in influencing transformational change, fostering a culture of accountability within the engineering department, and striving to make the Fox and Geese site the best in terms of safety, quality, and productivity among Pernod Ricard affiliates.


Role and Responsibilities

Compliance

Continuous Improvement

  • Champion an agile continuous improvement mindset in IDL, Production and your direct team.
  • Lead in the transition to a lean manufacturing principle and structured problem -solving culture within asset care and equipment reliability.
  • Monitor equipment performance/downtime and analyse trends to continuously improve reliability.
  • Be aware of loss and waste within the area. At all times work to reduce and eliminate waste and identify opportunities to improve business processes.
  • Lead and participate in improvement projects using relevant Lean principle tools.
  • Follow problem solving approaches as detailed in the Focused Improvement work practice.
  • The role must play a key part in actively leading all site teams to reduce waste, improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs and improve utilization and cycle times.
  • Adhere to leader standard work for the role.


Job Specific

  • Lead daily operational review meetings.
  • Attend and support Tier 1 and Tier 2 daily site meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with site wide Stakeholders including Bottling Operations and Quality Teams.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives through A3’s.
  • Develop and execute the Asset Care strategy for bottling operations with crafts and operators.
  • Act boldly to address team discipline and performance issues. Coach team members to deal with areas of under-performance.
  • Manage all aspects of people management responsibilities.
  • Support team level employee relations challenges, issues and/or concerns in pragmatic and constructive manner.
  • Ensure maintenance, asset care, KPI’s achieved and exceeded.
  • Responsible for the execution of all asset care and procedures within bottling operations
  • Review work completed by asset care technicians to ensure completeness and quality.
  • Assist and support the development of the maintenance and reliability program.
  • Assist in the asset care budget management within the area, under the direction of the Engineering Manager and ensure most cost-effective solutions are executed.
  • Provide cover for Engineering manager as required, including supporting shifts.
  • Supervises the work of service providers to ensure quality standards are adhered to.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience leading a team and strong understanding of how to develop a high performing team.
  • BEng Degree (Mech, Elec, Mnf) or Minimum: BEngTech / HCEng / City and Guilds (Mech, Elec, Mnf).
  • Strong Lean manufacturing experience, minimum green belt or equivalent.
  • Ability to act as a trusted coach, manage performance and enable the development of assigned team.
  • Strong financial awareness, understanding of business drivers, budgeting processes.
  • Experience in the use of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
