What is the opportunity?

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for their next technically exciting role! You will be part of a DevOps team which builds Bank of Ireland test environments for most major projects so that they are built consistently, integrated with our CI/CD pipelines and use Bank of Ireland's strategic set of dev/build/test/deploy strategic toolset: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins.

You will work with a DevOps team, to provision Test environments for BoI change projects in an automated fashion.

You will get the opportunity to work on many different, multi-tier architecture, enterprise applications including technologies like Websphere MQ, Broker, WAS, JBoss, Connect Direct, Sterling File Gateway, Tomcat etc. on both on premises and on Cloud across multiple O/S platforms: RHEL, Windows, Solaris, AIX.

In this Role, you will:
Implement software configuration management using the latest source code management tools
Automate Middleware Build and configuration using CI/CD Pipelines in Jenkins
Manage Atlassian Tools suite
Manage other DevOps tools like Jenkins, Sonarqube, Artefactory etc
Work with O/S, database and middleware products like RHEL, Windows, JBOSS, MQ, Connect:Direct, WAS, Sterling File Gateway, SQL Server etc.

You have demonstrable ability to derive clarity from ambiguity, and direct teams to deliver effective solutions. You are an effective leader with high integrity in applying a growth mindset to learn from experience, and build trust within your team and with external partners.

Successful candidates require 8+ years of relevant experience with a solid understanding and experience of:

MQ and other Websphere middleware software
Source code management tools like Clearcase, Git and Bitbucket
Jenkins and Perl/Python Scripting
Atlassian tools like JIRA, Confluence and Crowd.

Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out but is not necessary in order to apply for this role;

Sonarqube and Artefactory
Linux Administration skills
AWS knowledge
Essential Qualifications
A degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related field;

Environment Management Service (EMS) is a central team that builds/support test environments for many change projects in Bank of Ireland.

We are made up of 3 sub-teams: Tool Management, Data Management and Environment build teams. We are a technical operational team and aim to automate our operations using DevSecOps methodologies wherever possible.

Our focus is to implement solution designs on both on-premises and on Cloud platforms efficiently while permitting change delivery now and in the future.
