Molecular Partners AG is a clinical-stage biotech company pioneering the design and development of DARPin therapeutics for medical challenges other drug modalities cannot readily address. Position description

Position title

Director Accounting & Controlling (100%)

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Director Accounting and Controlling as an addition to our Finance Team.

This challenging and diverse position will include the following tasks and responsibilities:


1. Ensure Accurate Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee all company accounts, prepare all consolidations, while ensuring compliance with local GAAP and IFRS;
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes, including the preparation of external reporting for tax and statutory accounts as well as SEC reporting;

2. Collaborate on Audits and Compliance:

  • Manage group and statutory audits with external auditors, ensure compliance with internal control policies and SoX requirements, tax regulations;

3. Lead and Manage the Accounting Team:

  • Oversee a team of accountants, manage the accounts payable process and actively participating in accounting tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency in daily operations;

4. Other Financial responsibilities:

  • Financial oversight over subsidiary companies, treasury activities such as cash planning and main contact for our banking partners;
  • Be the finance lead in our employee share participation programs;
  • Be a sparring partner for payroll team:

5. Support Strategic Initiatives:

  • Assist with presenting financial reports to executives and stakeholders;
  • Optimizing processes and systems, and suggesting improvements for the accounting system and payables;

Requirements

For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual bringing along:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business;
  • Min 10 years of relevant professional experience in Consolidation Accounting under IFRS, and a strong technical background in accounting and controlling;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a track record of managing and developing finance teams;
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Excel and Workiva / Wdesk;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Experience in a biotech / life-sciences environment is a Plus;
  • Exceptional attention to detail without losing the overall picture;
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
