BBVA, is committed to integrating environmental and social sustainability into our business operations. Our Risk Sustainability Team plays a role in coordinating the implementation of BBVA's Environmental & Social Framework and Equator Principles commitments at BBVA's Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB). In this role, you will be responsible for aligning our E&S initiatives with BBVA's CIB division.

Responsibilities:
Evaluate Environmental and Social Risks: Assess environmental and social risks of Project Finance operations in line with international best practices (IFC Performance Standards).
Review Sustainability Standards Application: Ensure the application of BBVA's sustainability standards (Environmental and Social Framework, Equator Principles, etc.).
Sustainability Assessment: Evaluate operations presented to the Corporate & Investment Banking committees from a sustainability perspective by reviewing their technical documentation (Environmental Impact Assessment, Climate Change Assessment, Biodiversity Studies, Human Rights, etc.).
Participate in Sustainability Initiatives: Contribute to the implementation of other Sustainability initiatives in Corporate & Investment Banking (reporting, etc.).
Reputational Risk Analysis: Analyse reputational risk of clients and operations derived from environmental and social aspects.
Qualifications:
Academic background:
Engineering or technical degree (Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, etc.).
Postgraduate degree in Sustainability.
CFA ESG certification or similar.
Technical Skills:
Deep knowledge of Sustainability and Sustainable Finance.
Proficiency in technical documentation (Environmental Impact Assessment, Climate Change Risk Analysis, etc.).
Understanding of banking products and capital markets.
Knowledge of Compliance and Regulation in Sustainability and Sustainable Finance.
Languages:
English – B2 or C1 (Advanced) level or higher.
Previous Experience:
Up to 3 years of experience in sustainability within a bank or international company, agency, or sustainability consultancy.
