Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking to hire a highly motivated, customer-obsessed professional to provide hands-on support to our Data Center Infrastructure Operations team across the Frankfurt Cluster. (Data Center Security Manager).
As a DSM, you will be tasked with running day-to-day data center security operations, supporting and executing security projects and programs, as well as assuring audit compliance with global AWS policies and procedures.

Responsibility:

  • Direct and manage contract guard force to run daily data center operations.
  • Handle site security incidents, escalations or any other security related issues.
  • Provide after-hours on-call management support and participate in emergent, large scale event response when needed.
  • Participate in re-occurring data center security audits and reviews.
  • Executes established compliance processes with AWS policies, standards, guidelines and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides input on, and may develop security methodologies, policies and procedures.
  • Write reports and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.
  • Oversee new security construction or retrofit projects.
  • Manage the security P&L for assigned site(s), assist management with financial analysis and contribute to financial decisions for security requirements.
  • Collaborate with other teams to protect AWS Data Center personnel, information and assets.

Key job responsibilities

  • Ability to walk a facility and observe security gaps in physical barriers, security officer procedure, policies, surveillance equipment, and alarm points
  • Drive campaigns to reduce nuisance alarms
  • Experience with workflow ticketing and extraction of performance metrics
  • Investigate accidents, thefts, disturbances, discrepancies
  • Oversee physical security sub contractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction, door repair, fencing, and access controls
  • Distill overarching security strategy into daily tactics to reach management goals
  • Oversee security construction projects
  • Teach others the proper security processes and methods

Key job responsibilities

  • Protect sensitive data and assets by monitoring data in motion, in use and at rest
  • Implement and manage data loss prevention technologies for on-premises access control & CCTV systems. (Experience with the LENEL Access Control & Alarm Monitoring System is a plus) CPP/PSP Certification preferred
  • Write reports and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations. Oversee new security construction or retrofit projects. · Manage the security P&L for assigned site(s), assist management with financial analysis and contribute to financial decisions for security requirements.
  • Executes established compliance processes with AWS policies, standards, guidelines and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Direct work with contract guard force to run daily data center operations.
  • Triage events and assess suspicious activities related to data loss
  • Support Incident Response teams in data loss related investigations
  • Map data security flow diagrams to provide visibility on where sensitive data lies and how it’s adequately secured
  • Reviews and analyzes complex data and information to provide insights, conclusions and actionable recommendations
  • Executes established compliance processes with AWS policies, standards, guidelines and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to identify data security risks as they relate to the business and data privacy
  • Ensure security controls are correctly applied to systems, applications and platforms housing sensitive and critical data
  • Conduct data security assessments to ensure and validate the security posture of the organization
  • Provides direction and guidance on reports and analyses and ensures recommendations are aligned with customer/business needs and capabilities
  • Act as data security advisory and establish strong relationship with other data functions within the organization (data privacy, governance and management)
  • Collaborate with other teams to protect AWS Data Center personnel, information and assets.
  • Manage the security P&L for assigned site(s), assist management with financial analysis and contribute to financial decisions for security requirements.
