About The Role


The purpose of the Payments and Investigations Supervisor role is to oversee the day-to-day activities within Banking Services, to ensure the efficient and accurate processing of money transfers to meet trading requirements/management fees/loan repayments or general client funding. The role also includes an over view and control of the reconciliations of all open items, daily checklists and escalations.


The completion of these functions should assist in the controlled and smooth running of the department in order to meet the Service level agreement expected by Citco’s clients.


Your Role


  • Actively manage and oversee the Payments and Investigations team
  • Monitoring the repair queue in our core banking system and ensuring payments are processed accurately and within our currency cut off times.
  • Approval support for manual payments, journals and investigation swift messages.
  • Liaising with our KYC and Compliance departments to ensure payments are AML compliant as per regulation.
  • Daily review of Nostro reconciliation reports and escalating aged breaks.
  • Acting as escalation point for team issues/problems and liaise with Account Managers and clients to resolve escalations
  • Delegate work as appropriate within the team
  • Oversight of Intra-day and End of Day checklists to ensure all processes have been completed within strict deadlines
  • Dealing with all operational issues as they arise and provide immediate feedback to management
  • Create Agendas and chair bi-weekly team meetings.
  • Provide reporting and other stats to Payments Manager for monthly Dashboard
  • Oversight and control of the centralized group mailboxes
  • Creating goals and objectives for direct reports at the start of the calendar year.
  • Regular communication with direct reports including mandatory monthly one to ones
  • Conducting and assisting with the Interview process for new staff members
  • Identify and remove gaps in processes and propose solutions to bridge process gaps to management if required
  • Carry out testing on process and system enhancements to ensure the needs of the business and client have been met
  • Manage and plan the weekly rota to include daily task cover, training and out of course activities
  • Responsibility for the logging and reviewing Incident Reports and Action Plans
  • Be actively involved in Risk review and mitigation at all times
  • Create and update Standing Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and Process Flows
  • Aid IT in relevant development solutions
  • Any other tasks as they arise


About You


  • Minimum of 5 Years Payments experience with at least 2-3 years in a Supervisor or Team Lead role
  • Expertise in SWIFT and ISO20022 an advantage
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to delegate work as appropriate to ensure no deadlines are missed
  • The ability to keep calm and prioritize work under pressure
  • Willingness to take ownership / responsibility for work
  • Proven multi-tasking capabilities
  • IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills are essential
  • An adaptable team player with a proactive approach to problem resolution
  • Ability to escalate issues effectively to Management
  • Proven ability to work to strict deadlines
