As Head of Business Operations , you are an important member of the country management team (Sandoz Leadership Team) and are responsible – in close alignment with Regional and Global Teams - for maximizing effectiveness in Customer Engagement across all channels (F2F and Digital) and aligning the service offering with customer needs to improve sales in designated channels. You will also lead Sandoz-wide projects to optimize our go-to market models and improve our internal processes and approaches by applying efficient and innovative insights to impact growth on both top and bottom line. Finally, you will be a key contributor to driving portfolio decisions and ensuring launch success, collaborating closely with Regional portfolio and launch teams.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Leading the local Business Operations team of six direct reports in alignment with the Sandoz Commercial Excellence Competence Center function, reporting to the Country Head.

  • Fostering a strong team spirit while having a focus on people development in a fast-changing environment, implementing a customer centric and data driven organization.

  • Developing in close collaboration with the commercial business units and other key functions integrated go-to-market models and overall commercialization strategies reflecting market trends, customer needs and pipeline opportunities.

  • Designing winning and scalable customer engagement strategies across all channels (F2F and Digital) and driving in-depth market and customer insight generation that supports effective segmentation & targeting, call planning, marketing tactics, personalization at scale, cross channel effectiveness, KPI setting and business impact. This includes continuous enhancement of commercial systems, digital applications and customer relationship management strategies.

  • Enhancing Customer Engagement Excellence (Sales Force and Marketing Excellence) through trainings, implementation of KPIs and monitoring vs. defined standards and well-balanced incentives / rewards. Ensure required capabilities are being developed and related training & development activities are being implemented.

  • Managing and driving forward important commercial projects contributing to the overall success of Sandoz Switzerland.

  • Analyzing pipeline and external opportunities and supporting x-functional portfolio decision-making across the entire lifecycle including pruning decisions.

  • Supporting the development of effective launch strategies and managing the coordination of the cross-functional team to achieve competitive launch preparation and execution.

  • Ensuring effective team sizing, resource allocation & budget efficiency by leveraging the global set-up and sharing data already available and engaging smartly by driving problem and best practice sharing across country and cluster.

  • Effectively adhering and promoting the highest ethical standards and behaviors, including compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and regulations (like commercial policies, professional practices policy, financial control frameworks, Sandoz code of conduct).

  • KPIs include: a) Annual net sales and operational income performance in accordance with financial target b) Sales Force and Marketing Effectiveness c) Feedback from internal stakeholders

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential Requirements:

  • Education: University degree in business administration or Science (and comparable studies).

  • 5 years+ in generic medicine / pharmaceutical industry or FMCG

  • Strong Commercial Excellence experience with proven ability to create and implement successful commercial strategies (business acumen)

  • Extensive understanding of Sales Force Management, Marketing, Business Intelligence and Analytics with understanding of Digital/Multichannel space.

  • Affinity to Customer Relationship Management, Digital and IT systems

  • Superior ability to communicate, collaborate effectively, and push things through/across a global, matrixed company, including previous experience working with Regional and Global teams

  • Excellent project management capabilities

  • Proven leadership skills

  • Able to manage complexity and displaying high learning agility

  • Fluent in one local language (German, French or Italian) and English

Desirable Requirements:

  • French or German at business level

  • Former Consulting experience

  • Portfolio and launch expertise
