We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Manager to join our management team at the 4* Kilkenny River Court Hotel.

The Kilkenny River Court Hotel is a premier 4-star city centre hotel and is superbly located adjacent to the main shopping areas, theatres, entertainment, tourist attractions, Kilkenny’s Medieval Mile, and Kilkenny Castle.

We are part of the Neville Hotel group, a family-owned Irish Hotel Group with four iconic hotels, and a fifth on the way: The group comprises of the 4* Royal Marine Hotel in Dún Laoghaire County Dublin, the 5* Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort in Wicklow, the 4* Kilkenny River Court Hotel, the 4* Tower Hotel & Leisure Centre in Waterford City, and due to open shortly is the 4* Ravenport Resort in Curracloe, Wexford.

The Ideal Candidate: -

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the hospitality industry and possess excellent guest care and service skills. They will have a mature, positive, and pleasant manner and minimum of two years’ hotel supervisory experience.

Responsibilities: -

  • To work with the HOD’s in achieving the goals and objectives of the Kilkenny River Court Hotel and in turn the Neville Hotel Group.
  • To maintain the correct service and product standards within the hotel.
  • To be an active member of the F&B team ensuring that when goals are set, they are also followed through.
  • To ensure guest complaints are actioned promptly, closed out, communicated, and logged on the handover report.
  • Ensure handovers are communicated in detail and issues are addressed promptly.
  • Ensure staffing levels are proportionate to business levels and adjusted for ad-hoc pick-up / changes.
  • Ensure all departments are aware of daily operations, occupancy, groups in house, pick-up, package guests, VIP’s, previous complaints,
  • To assist in the control of all costs throughout the hotel.
  • To have adequate knowledge of operating the hotels AV equipment, air conditioning and lighting in all departments.
  • To attend hotel and departmental meetings as required, ensuring effective communication at all levels.
  • To ensure that all hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • To ensure an environment exists which promotes employee morale and encourages the team to have pride and commitment in their area of work.
  • To report and/or take appropriate action on all maintenance issues as they arise.
  • Ensure that the hotel, external areas, and carpark are immaculate at all times for weddings, events, guests & viewing appointments.
  • To assist in training, ensuring that training is documented accordingly and to assist in the development of staff.
  • To maintain all company policies and procedures.
  • To comply with Statutory and policy requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, Licensing and Employment.
  • To report and act on all accidents and hazards.
  • To adhere to all policies as set by General Manager and to promote a teamwork element at all times.
  • To continuously revisit standards and generate new ideas to differentiate Neville Hotels from its competitors.
  • Ensure that all employees comply with service, uniform, personal appearance, and health and food safety standards.
