What is the opportunity ?


The successful candidate will lead a team of Architecture specialists and will have the opportunity to work on and towards Hybrid implementations with new and existing platforms.


The W&I Enterprise Architecture Team will deliver Business and Technical Designs & Roadmaps for the existing estate, working with wider Bank of Ireland Enterprise Architecture and implementation partners to ensure design principles & standards and best practices are adhered to.


In this role you will


  • Lead a team of skilled W&I Enterprise Architects to develop, document and maintain a standardised Enterprise Architecture for W&I
  • Evaluate current artefacts to identify key requirements and gaps
  • Drive the evolution of W&I Enterprise Architecture team service and help define the strategy for W&I EA
  • Own the development and introduction of EA tooling to support sustainable Enterprise Architecture
  • Create Business & Technical Architecture deliverables that clarify strategic directions, highlight business outcomes and explore implications, impacts and risks.
  • Chair W&I Technical Design Authority (TDA), updating TDA terms of reference and ways of working to support robust Change process.
  • Represent W&I on BOI Architecture Review Board (ARB)
  • Align and Communicate appropriately with BOI Enterprise EA Standards, Principles and Roadmaps
  • Strong communications skills are required, to build sound relationships with all partners to understand W&I business priorities and strategy

  • Proven years experience in Technical implementations
  • Team lead/people management experience
  • Demonstrate experience in all aspects of designing and building Business Capabilities, Value Streams, Business Processes and Org Structures, integration methods, tools
  • Demonstrate experience of EA tools to build and maintain EA deliverables
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of facilitation of Change Management
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts, designs and theories for different projects
  • Demonstrate Data, Security, Application, Cloud and on-Prem Infrastructure experience
  • Flexibility and experience of leading changing priorities effectively
  • Exposure to working with implementation partners and suppliers


Essential Qualifications


Knowledge and experience in TOGAF or similar EA qualification.

This is a hybrid role and can be done anywhere in the Republic of Ireland with the primary office location as Dublin. Travel will be required for in person collaboration exact frequency to be agreed with manager.
